Al-Bayan International School follows the curriculum as outlined by the Ministry of Education in Kuwait for all school levels of the Arabic Language Program. All Arabic teachers are qualified and hold a Bachelor degree in Arabic Language and Literature. All teachers are certified by the Ministry of Education in Kuwait.
Arabic teachers support the school mission of personalizing education by recognizing and taking into consideration the individual differences of students when planning lessons and creating assessments. Teachers incorporate effective teaching methods and engaging strategies to motivate students and enhance their knowledge and skills. The Arabic language curriculum meets the individual needs of students through Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) which are created as needed and discussed with parents and students before they are put into practice.
BIS also offers Arabic as a Foreign Language (AFL) which is designed for Non-Arabic speaking students. This program teaches students skills in speaking and writing in Arabic aligned with the curriculum from the Ministry of Education.
The Arabic Department participates in Little Thinking Minds to develop reading through the “I Read” application. Students in KG2 through grade 8 are able to access digital stories that support listening, reading, and comprehension skills in Arabic at school and at home. Teachers encourage literacy through Arabic language classroom libraries and students can also check out Arabic books in the BIS library.
Arabic and Islamic Department commend our students and their parents for their support in helping our students achieve success.
